LA METRO Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project

Los Angeles, 2014 - Present

The Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project is an 8.5-mile light-rail line, with eight stations, including Leimert Park and Hindry. The rail line will run between the Expo Line on Exposition Bl and the Metro Green Line. It will consist of aerial (La Brea Av/ La Cienega Bl and 405 Freeway/ Century Bl) and below-grade segments (Exposition Bl to 48th St/59th Pl to 67th St/ Los Angeles International Airport South Runways) with all remaining areas at-grade. 

 
 

DC Engineering Group has performed both Traffic and Civil Engineering Services to the Walsh Shea Corridor Constructors team (WSCC). DC Engineering Group was the lead engineering firm responsible to facilitate extended roadway closures for the proposed underground stations (Expo, MLK, and Vernon). Our team prepared Transportation Management Plans to safely and efficiently handle detoured traffic during the extended roadway closure in order for the contractor to install traffic decking at  the proposed station  sites. The Transportation Management Plans consisted of data collection, a site specific SYNCHRO traffic analysis, mitigation traffic handling plans; mitigation traffic signal plans, mitigation street lighting plans, and temporary interconnect infrastructure plans. DC Engineering prepared, coordinated, and obtained agency approvals for this task. A list of all the services provided are identified below
